Park Gate Royal British Legion

Fly Fishing Section

About the P.G.R.B.L.F.F.S

The section was formed in 1956 by a small group of Park Gate Royal British Legion members. Originally the section leased fishing rights on the River Meon from the owner of Segensworth House - the cost for the original lease was 2 brace of trout. Today the section owns and leases the fishing rights to a number of beats on the River Meon, covering an area from Bridge Street in Titchfield to just upstream of the M27 motorway bridge north of Titchfield.

The sections waters contain a good head of wild and stocked brown trout as well a being fortunate enough to enjoy a run of sea trout and salmon, although these are not often targeted and are occasionally caught inadvertently by members whilst nymph fishing.

The club aims to provide pleasurable fly fishing for section members and their guests at a reasonable cost.
