Armed with saws, slashers, scythes and strimmer's, club members this month tackled the east bank of the Bugle Meadow beat. The east bank along the full length of the beat was opened up to provide access for fishing, vegetation levels were high as this was the first opportunity to tackle the beat this year but many hands made light work of the bank clearance - a couple of before and after shots of the top section below, great work by Gary and his scythe! Club members placed some steel girders across the drainage ditch that flows into the lower end of the beat, this will be made into a more permanent structure when time allows. The culvert that flows under Bridge Street was also cleared of debris and a large log that had got stuck and was blocking water flow. As soon as the log was removed the water level above the culvert dropped by a couple of inches and good water flow was restored.
